Solid waste collection in the camps can be as efficient as the service in any municipality. UPRS trained staff, with our fleet of waste collection vehicles, collect solid waste from locations throughout the camps on a regular daily schedule. The truck team takes care to prevent waste spillage during the collection process, and to ensure the areas around waste bins are litter-free.
Our trucks comply with the latest international environmental requirements and feature the Euro-5 exhaust system, in compliance with European standards, to reduce air pollution. The vehicles are equipped with advanced compactor technology according to European standards. UPRS has compactor trucks with different volumes, to cover all camps needs, including collection at remote locations and work sites. Where large trucks cannot easily manoeuver, we use small tipper trucks or pick-up trucks for waste collection.
We can supply waste bins of any size and in any quantity, in galvanized steel or sturdy high density polyethylene, as well as dumpsters. Outdoor waste bins can be equipped with lockable wheels and foot pedals for ease of operation. Each bin is barcoded to register the time and date it is emptied, and bins have fluorescent trim to minimize accidents. Dumpsters are inspected daily for the presence of any hazardous items and any such items are reported immediately, with follow-up action initiated appropriate to the type of hazard the item may present.
UPRS monthly bin-washing service keeps waste bins and dumpsters fresh and reduces the likelihood of pest infestation. Dumpsters and waste receptacles at kitchens and dining areas are cleaned more frequently, with high pressure hot water and detergent. Liquid waste is processed at the wastewater treatment plant.
UPRS builds various types of water purification plants, ensuring a continuous supply of potable water for washing or pure drinking water.
Our bio-engineers, chemical engineers and chemists will develop a water purification system to meet every Mobile City requirement.
The water purification plant can deliver:
- Drinking water
- Water suitable for ablutions and other washing needs
- Water for outdoor purposes such as street cleaning, landscaping and irrigation
- Purified water for industrial purposes
We build the necessary water tanks and install all the mechanical, process and design elements needed to:
- Screen incoming wastewater
- Clarify the water in tanks
- Apply biological treatment
- Enable secondary clarification of the water
- Apply microfiltration (membrane filtration)
- Disinfect cleaned water
- Test effluent to ensure it meets international standards
- Treat and utilize or dispose of sludge
UPRS specialist engineering team designs wastewater treatment plants to meet specific capacity requirements and expected uses. We estimate the volumes of wastewater to be processed, based on the size and operation of the camps. The operation includes a fully equipped laboratory to test the water at all stages of the treatment process, ensuring effective cleansing and required processing volume.
UPRS uses an automated tracking, reporting and validation system for laundry operations. The system begins with the service request form, which the Mobile City resident signs and submits at the laundry drop-off center, either manually or by completing and submitting the online request form. The request form lists the services required, the quantity of laundry bags submitted, and the required delivery date. Each resident is issued an RFID laundry tag, linked to their Mobile City ID. The UPRS laundry specialist scans the RFID tag attached to the laundry bag, to avoid laundry mix-ups. Once the customer signs the electronic signature pad, the specialist issues a receipt for the laundry bag. On customer request, the bag’s contents are inventoried. UPRS also offers the following specialized laundry services:
- MWR Towel Services
- Medical Laundry
- Kitchen Laundry
- Petroleum Contaminated Laundry
- Detainee Laundry
UPRS supplies, assembles and installs long-lasting portable toilets wherever needed in the camps or at off-site remote locations. Portable toilets can easily be relocated as required. We provide both Western- and Eastern-style portable toilets, depending on requirements. Our fleet of over 30 modern septic service trucks enables our personnel to provide cleaning and maintenance services 24/7, ensuring our portable toilets (PTs) meet stringent sanitary standards and are well stocked at all times. UPRS three-compartment PT septic trucks are capable of carrying several thousand liters of wastewater and thousands of liters of non-potable water and blue water. Toilets are pressure washed with fresh water and dried at least once daily, and more often where conditions warrant. Western-style toilets are stocked with 4 rolls of toilet paper. UPRS supplies 2-layer toilet paper with a minimum of 65 feet per new roll, and provides separate waste receptacles in women’s toilet facilities. In Eastern-style portable toilets, the team checks that the water sprayer is functioning normally. The area around the toilets is cleared of litter and cleaned. We also replenish the hand sanitizer dispenser during servicing.
We design and build accommodation facilities with efficiency and comfort in mind. We can create roomy and comfortable VIP apartments with private living and sleeping areas and en suite bathrooms. For junior (technical staff) and labor accommodation, urban-style multi-story construction might be required, using pre-engineered, containerized or permanent construction techniques with interior hallways or external walkways and stairs, or barracks-like tented structures with wood or concrete flooring can be used.
For all types of accommodation, UPRS will complete the work to a high standard. We make sure all work is done to specifications and adheres to all local laws and regulations, as well as local, national and international safety requirements. Wherever the community is located, we bring Western standards to the construction of accommodation and all community facilities.
Each accommodation building and room is fitted with the specified amenities, including NEC or other standard electrical connections, plumbing, internet and telephone connectivity if required, and HVAC.We can provide customized built-in features such as desks and wardrobes/closets.

Kitchen cleaning is done by a separate team working with specialized cleaning products and cleaning tools. In all cases, UPRS uses certified, professional cleaning products and tools, following HACCP principles. We plan our cleaning processes based on the layout of the camps and the design of buildings, using floor plans to identify individual rooms and spaces as cleaning areas, all of which are barcoded and entered into our cleaning management system. Each cleaning team is assigned cleaning areas for their shift, and each member of the team is trained to work to UPRS standards for cleaning processes and results. UPRS also provides:
